Storytelling has “been programmed into us for generation after generation after generation. Because we’ve done this as long as human beings have been human, we’re now programmed to think in stories. In fact, scientists say, ‘If you want somebody to remember something, put it into the context of a story.’ Jonathan Gottschall in The Storytelling Animal: How Stories Make Us Human, writes ‘We are, as a species, addicted to story. Even when the body goes to sleep, the mind stays up all night, telling itself stories.’ We want our experiences to live in people's dreams, and in their nightmares.”
The above keynote was given at the 2017 Haunted Attraction Symposium, the theme for which was ‘Innovation in Interactivity.’
The 2nd Annual Leadership Symposium is July 30th, 2018, aboard the historic and haunted Queen Mary in Long Beach, California.
